Designed by Kindred Studio, ‘Earth Court 002’ is our most ambitious basketball court proposal to date. It features interior recreational space, a full court basketball court, tiered natural outdoor seating, a walipini greenhouse and garden, a community soccer pitch, and large-scale public art installations throughout the property. This follow up to ‘Sanctum’ aims to fully realize the potential of integrating nature and landscape architecture with sports and recreation.

Kindred’s earth courts investigate the ways that merging art and sports can generate environmental awareness and impact. Through this initiative, we investigate the role and importance of public art, its capacity to connect and engage people. Infusing the beauty of nature with the simplicity of minimalist design we invite visitors to explore and re-evaluate their relationship with nature and the natural world.

Influenced by ancient earthworks and land art, our earth courts exist as purpose-driven functional art that demonstrate some of the ways in which basketball has been, and continues to be a driver of ideas, and an aggregate for social impact.
