Home & Away

Miles McEnery Gallery
New York, NY
Exhibition

HOME & AWAY lives on as one of the first exhibitions to explore the intersection between contemporary art and the culture of basketball. Borrowing its title from language found on scoreboards—where “home” and “away” signify opposing teams—the exhibition repositions these terms to evoke a sense of shared space, movement, identity, and belonging. Rather than reinforcing competition and division, HOME & AWAY invites viewers to reflect on the ways basketball courts— like art galleries— serve as dynamic stages for performance, creativity, and cultural exchange. The exhibition bridges aesthetics and sport, featuring work by artists whose practices challenge traditional boundaries and offer new perspectives on place, play, and community. Featured Artists: Alexandre Arrechea, Holly Bass, Katherine Bernhardt, Dan Colen, Eric Haze, Paula Henderson, David Huffman, Titus Kaphar, Tomokazu Matsuyama, Carlos Rolón, Ashley Teamer, Nari Ward, Wendy White, and Jonas Wood.
